A mum of three very different children. When Covid19 hit, I watched as my then 2.5 year old became more and more anxious. With a lack of support I decided to start integrating mindfulness into our days. Having struggled with my own mental health challenges over the years and having found meditation and mindfulness helpful, I decided that as no one else could help, the least I could do is try myself.
Over the years I watched my kids grow, and saw the impact that integrating mindfulness into our days had had. Seeing how it helped, and using it more and more in my own life to support my own mental health drove me to want to support others. The realisation that learning these skills from a young age was like learning a second language from a young age was too big to ignore.
Following this I began training. First as a Kids Meditation Teacher, then as a Meditation for Mental Health Facilitator, Meditation Teacher, Sound Meditation Teacher, Advanced Sound Practitioner, Transformational Breathwork Facilitator and Cacao Facilitator.
Through this Happy Little Futures blossomed. Since then I have worked in Schools speaking in assemblies, holding sessions for classes and training teachers. I have worked with youth groups such as girl guides and scouts tailoring sessions according to need, be it a general wellbeing session to helping them to achieve their badges. I have hosted toddler classes, family sound baths, taught parents to support their children with mindfulness and have done 1:1 sessions for both children, parents and with families.
Seeing first hand the impact integrating meditation and mindfulness into peoples day can have has only grown my passion for spreading these skills and equipping people from 0 - 150 with their own mental health tool kits for life.
In all of this, my main teaching is that everyone can benefit from mindfulness and meditation and it doesn't have to involve sitting still for 10 minutes, carving time out of your day, being still, or even quiet. It can be as simple as bringing your attention to a single breath.
